This is something my Grandma (Bama) used to say, and it is something I have carried with me all my life. These few words have made a HUGE difference in my life… for the positive… and as I get older and hopefully more “mature” in this life, they take on even more significance and benefit. Bama always said, “Age is… “ Aahhh, just listen to the podcast. It is worth your time!

The second episode in a series that Rowan and I are doing on the podcast, Nopes and Opes. This podcast can be found most places, including YouTube, Apple, and Spotify. This is a GREAT episode! I DO feel that way about many of the recent episodes, but if you do listen to this episode, you WILL get to hear some thoughts and discussion about ALL the topics listed below and so, so much more… this one is worth your time, especially if you might be a bit younger in life and just starting out upon your own journey… but really, this one will have something for anyone who reads the tags below and says, “Yea, I would like to know more…”

Pretty self-explanatory… This episode actually comes from a question that was posed by our first guest on the podcast, Jade. In one episode of the podcast she asked, “How do you make friends?” Such a simple question, but it was something both Rowan and I struggled to answer… and we were both shocked and more than a little dismayed by this fact. This is an effort to simply formulate our own thoughts and replies to this original simply question.

Rowan took me to the comedy club where he does stand-up on the open-mic nights… and I HAD A BLAST! It was also the first time Rowan went to the club as a patron and NOT a comic. It was a VERY FUN & SUPER INTERESTING evening and I think this episode captures some of the energy, funniness, and definitely the psychology of that experience.

I think Rowan nails it in his introduction. Failure is a key component of success! There is no way around this. We are ALL going to FAIL. Take advantage of the opportunities your failures present and you WILL BE SUCCESSFUL.

This is the first episode in a series where Rowan and I begin to explore the best advice I would like to give to the graduating high school students with whom I work most closely, but the reality is there are lessons in this episode for ALL OF US. I am NOT a great surfer, not even good really, but I DO love the ocean… and Mother Ocean has taught me SO MUCH! This is a great conversation about surfing and comedy and lessons and life. This one is beneficial for all… but it is targeted for those 17 -24 years… just a bit of hard-fought knowledge that might be beneficial.

This one is simply an in-depth study where Rowan and I take a deep, cold-hard truth look at ourselves and how we see, interpret, and deal with the world around us. This is the personal study of our own unique psychologies and world views and approaches that I hope draws people into listening to this podcast… for me, the insights in this episode is the essence and value of this podcast… and why I continue this journey and enjoy it as much as I do.

This is something of a personal one for me. It was definitely my idea to choose this topic and I am very glad I did. This was a great conversation that covered a lot of different ideas and perspectives that led to some very meaningful, and I would say, beneficial insights. If you listen, I think you will be pleased… just off the sheer number of tags you should be a little interested…

This episode came from a conversation I had with my niece. She was telling me she has problems sleeping… and she is so young, only about 18 years. As we talked more, she said, “I never feel like I have done ENOUGH. I always think there is more I SHOULD have done.” I don’t think she is the only one of us who feels this way… and I hope this is a very beneficial conversation for all of us who can relate to my niece.
